LET ME SET YOU STRAIGHT

SIR MANLEY, WE DID NOT EAT THE CANNIBALS–

QUITE THE REVERSE, OLD ONE–

IN FACT WE WERE IN A STEW POT

THE FIRE KEPT GOING OUT

FOR GRANGELY MANAGED TO DIG A LEAK

INTO THAT MIGHTY VESSEL WITH A HORNY TOE NAIL

THE STEAM THUS PRODUCED GAVE

EXCELLENT COVER FOR OUR ESCAPE–

WE RODE ELEPHANTS, NOT TIGERS,

AS THE FRANTIC PRESS FIRST BELIEVED.

WE WERE PURSUED INTO THE SAHARA

WHERE WE TRADED PACHYDERMS

FOR THE MIGHTY SHIPS OF THE DESERT SANDS–

THE HUMPED CAMELS–SPITTING & GROANING–

BUT EXPEDITIONS–OBVIOUSLY–

FOR AFTER A FEW TRAINS & PACKETS,

WE ARE HERE AGAIN

CENTER OF ATTENTION IN THE MAP ROOM

AT THE ANCIENT EXPLORER CLUB–

LONDON OF THE DRY GIN

AND DON’T MIND IF I DO–

OH, JAMES, REFILLS ALL AROUND,

SIR MANLY, OH TWISTED TALES TO TELL!

STUNNING TALES OF THE MAP ROOM
