IS IT MELMAC?

Or that orange plastic

The color of dyed Florida oranges?

Her husband likes the blue,

Said it was Prussian

Maybe matched his uniform

In the Great War back when…

Lucky to survive creased with shrapnel

Torn from metal toss offs

From the previous decade

Much of it produced right here,

And sold to the future enemy

For tidy profits in a sad low time

Back then they lacked colors

Oozed from petroleum

So their world was metallic

Like gun metal gray

And now what a palette of fruits

Making life again a canvas of

Living bleeding cornucopias.
