Poem: “Never Forget the Warning”, notebooks, Jim Stallings

Never forget the warning

That things change

Under the radar

And wind up surprise

In your living room,

Guest room or

Even your bed—

Precious ship of night

Voyages to Lands

Free of Visitors

Who stay too long

In the tradition

Of lonely lost sheep

Who leap then

Your sweaty dreams

With numerals

Always the same.
