Poem: “Crouched in a Corner”

Crouched in a corner,
Dubious biz going on,
Spider talk on the web,
Robust words spoken
With the click of certainty.

Take a moment, yes,
To reconsider —
No one’s there.
So exhaustion,
Always a posture,
Popular,
Draping on a trellis,
Flowers succulent,
Hummingbirds hover
While afternoons fade.
My, but we’ve had
Another day in paradise.
